BSmooth is a specialized 2.5D modeler that creates terrains in high resolution. It's exspecially useful in connection with Bryce, the software for digital landscape creation made by MetaCreations (formerly known as metatools).
BSmooth creates native Bryce scene files that contain a terrain in full vertical resolution (16-bit) and can be merged into existing scenes or used as basis for creating new ones. Beside this it can create 16-bit Photoshop files or DXF files, i.e. to export a native Bryce terrain from a Bryce file.
To get an overview what the users and I have modeled with it see the BSmooth Gallery! Additionally, the Blueprints page may contain some new and upcoming stuff.
Download the BSmooth demo!
Please understand that BSmooth like any other software may crash. This may corrupt files, kill your cat, or ruin your house etc. etc....
So take care of your data, backup and save your working files regularily. Don't forget to feed your cat.

This software is provided 'as is'. You are using it solely at your own risk.
Okay, I accept this. Download BSmooth now!
The current version is V 3.3b5 from February 8th 2000 (~757 K).
It needs at least OS < System 8.1, and of course it is OS9 compatible. If you have problems expanding the archive, then please use a recent version of Stuffit Expander!

Yasuyuki Shimizu was so kind to write a Japanese summary of the manual!
It's about 480 K. He's also translated my BSolutions page, which holds a lot of tips & tricks for Bryce

I am currently porting BSmooth to Windows, though I have limited ressources to do so. If you are interested in the Windows version of my utilities, then please send an email with the subject "WinPort" to me (klaus@bsmooth.de) and I'll keep you tuned about any developments on the Windows platform!
